It would seem Greece had political faults according to Delphi. Rome had it's problems as well. Now America and it's democracy. Is there a truth there? All the "isms"have been tried...and failed! In America we the people has became we the government and by the people is now by the government. We know reforms have not worked in the past what makes one think it will now? Questions please. pljamesone@att.net

Disregarding your understanding of American politics, all the "isms" have not been tried. And even if they had, considering our societal, technological, and philisophical advancements, who is to say that the democracy of the ancients will work the exact same way as democracy in a modern society? Or even if they will (and do) work differently between modern countries?

Politics has many definitions. Politics can also be a personal thing or a group thing. When it comes down to it, people want peace and order as a group however one attains it. Agreed history has proven not all politics work. I would think after thousands of years there has not been one that has worked well. Within our societal,technological and philosophical advancements they have their political arguments.And I agree that each government works according to it's time and circumstances. What is good for one is not always good for the other. It is said large groups seel peace and order for safety reasons for the group.

With our present position in the USA and in Europe there seems to be a overall problem economcally. I find that strange. These occurances seem to be happening in the whole world and not in individual counties. Thoughts please.pljames@att.net

I think first you might should re-evaluate your statement, "Now America and it's democracy." We are not a democracy. Say your Pledge of Allegiance...."and to the Republic, for which it stands."

Be careful...stating the obvious can stir up trouble It's interesting, though. Skills at rabble-rousing ultimately rotted Athens. Chilling parallels to the US now.
