uhg...christ comes from the greek chrestos- meaning annointed, or in some cases, an oil used for annointing. So then, The Christ means "annointed one". "Yeshua ha meshia" translates as "Joshua the messiah. Messiah means deliverer, one who delivers from or saves from, or savior.
