The Purpose of Life, or what I have gleaned from my study of mysticism and combining that with my study of Esoteric Psychology, is that all Man does fulfills the Purpose of Life, although much of this is at levels ones physical senses cannot perceive.

I have currently being studying determinism which seems to be fairly solid to me the theory follows a set of premises.

P1 All matter in the Universe has a prior cause (this makes the action determined to happen)
P2 All human beings are made up of matter
P3 All human actions involve matter
C All human actions have a prior cause making them determined

The theory comes from closed causal chains which shows that if a certain action happens then the result is inevitable - Cause and Effect.

If action A happens (i.e. is the cause) then action B will happen (this is the effect) however if we than alter A in any way say If A and B are the prior cause then C will be the effect. All these actions have a prior cause. I was recently watching derren brown and this helps prove my theory. Derren brown and he influences people to act a certain way. what happens is that he will write down a word and then he doesn't show any body and makes them guess the word however he uses Sub-concious messages that people are not aware of and then they choose the letter that he wrote. Now this shows that you can determine peoples actions by trigering certain areas of matter we will say. Because we are only made up of matter we are determined to act in a certain way.

Another study that I looked into showed that we can predict the choice that someone is going to make atleast 5 seconds before they have made that through observing certain areas of the brain this shows that choices are made up of different areas in the brain.
So firstly you must answer whether we are free or not before discussing our fate or destiny. Another question that I will ask is that if we are determined and there is such a thing as closed causal chains then there are eith 1 of the 2 possibilities

1. There is an infinnite regression of closed causal events thus time is infinite
2. There is an uncaused cause which we would call God (Thomas Aquinas - The Cosmological Argument)

I don't believe p1, and while I agree with p2, I don't think that "matter" is the ONLY thing we're made of.

So firstly you must answer whether we are free or not before discussing our fate or destiny.

Or I can just presuppose, for the purposes of the discussion, that we have free will, and leave the question of free will itself for another thread. I'm not writing a treatise on human understanding or anything, here, right?

I believe what I find awkward or difficult to deal with in philosophy are "assumptions" [which is the brain "thinking"], and without some Absolute [or Truth] as a guide post, the MIND can cause the brain to think endlessly, like a dog chasing its tail. And although thinking is an exercise that is not without entertainment value, it rarely ends in the Truth. I believe the reason is that Truth lies in an Esoteric dimension other than the physical dimension in which thinking takes place.

I have found that a study of the Law of Karma encompasses most assumptions one can make regarding the "reason" we do what we do.

I have not heard of the "antinomies of pure reason", but first I would need to know how "pure reason" is defined? I believe few individuals "know" what the reasoning process involves. But I would be interested in discovering how one defines "reason" without reference to the Esoteric dimensions of Man, or assumptions?

Interesting that I find "C" true, although I believe P1, P2, and P3 are less than true. Depending upon how we define "matter"? If we are speaking of the physical dimension of Man [to which thinking applies], then P1,P2 and P3 apply. Even if we include the MIND dimension, P1,P2 and P3 apply. But P1,P2 and P3 do not apply to the Spiritual dimension of Man. A sense of where I am coming from is explained here.
