HB, I sympathise, but, as a term, "concept engineering" is a banal alternative to Philosophy. In archaic terms who can discern will find higher value in them. Etymology is fascinting. There are things latent you can discover in good terms. Do you think it is a coincidence that the term "pain" is in the word "paint"? Let us not forget, it was Pythagoras who gave us the term, philosophy. Let us contemplate it- let us respect it.

Is this another topic on God and fear? You do realise the two terms, when one reads individual sacred texts are completely contradictory? Whether your fathers threatened to ground you or not... !dodge
Or is this about changing the term philosophy into concept engineering? Is the term philosophy still making people squirmish? Wow this place never changes !amazed
I'm studying Archaeology, i have a mind to call philosophy, NeoArcosophy. The knowledge/wisdom of past and present...much better than concept engineering I dare say.
Let us roll our eyes in irritation.

'Dog food' is a pretty good name as well, and about as apt.

Socrates, Plato and Aristotle laid down excellent foundations for Philosophy. But I believe time has now come to move on and re-name philosophy as " concept engineering ".

My proposal is to call philosophy as concept engineering so that we could build on Platonic Heritage and have better understanding of our selves, better understanding of the universe and of God!
I'm just sorry that it would be COMMON SENSE for the knowing of understanding for common objectivity. We really have no idea who we are for the training for books and books by training we've reflected for towards the called upon/
