I define logic as a formalization of reasoning and reasoning as a manifestation of consciousness and consciousness as a product of neural complexity. So yes, before man there was no logic, but there was neural complexity in other organisms. Just not in an amount sufficient for human level reasoning. I see the ability to reason or, consciousness, as a synergistic manifestation of an evolved neural complexity.I see natural evolution as having an algorithmic quality. Slowly but inexorably, over billions of years,it generates organisms with ever increasing neural complexity until, finally, there's us with our complex level of "bioconsciousness".Ain't life grand?
