We all need to know so we question? We cannot know everything just what we need to know at the time we need to know it. Is there the absolute answer where we do not question everything? That philosophy is circular and to no gain. Where some answers need not answering or questioning. Could a absolute answer be questioned? Why not just go with facts or faith? pljames

Why not just go on facts or faith? There is truth, belief or not. And there is opinion...maybe. Non belief just results in keep searching for a answer you will accept.In that case you change the original answer be it truth or opinion and the original answer believed or not is lost. Then what is gained? pljames

I'm thinking Pyrrho. Go with appearances and necessary inference. Everything else is left as a 'maybe' or an 'it appears that' or 'it seems to be such'. Even the Pyrrhonian approach is doubted by Pyrrhonians themselves, in the sense that they don't claim that it leads to any certain knowledge or that it's the best way to live in an absolute or universal sense. It's just that it leads to a state of ataraxia, which seems like a reasonable goal.
