I'm thinking
Pyrrho. Go with appearances and necessary inference. Everything else is left as a 'maybe' or an 'it appears that' or 'it seems to be such'. Even the Pyrrhonian approach is doubted by Pyrrhonians themselves, in the sense that they don't claim that it leads to any certain knowledge or that it's the best way to live in an absolute or universal sense. It's just that it leads to a state of
ataraxia, which seems like a reasonable goal.
