Writing Our Own 2 Years, 7 Months ago

Last night while reading I was compelled to write my own little essay on myth. However, I stopped this thought with the presumption that writing your own piece of philosophical work is useless unless you are being marked by a professional. Did the greats do this? Well, EP is not a journal, so I was thinking that maybe we should all attempt to write our own philosophical piece - something unique - but not so much an essay, anything we feel compelled to write about because we think of it day and night and never have a chance to express it. Yes, my good ol' professors think I think and write much like an amalgamation of Neitzsche, Beauvoir and Rushdie (?) and so, of course, i'm totally awesome and will pull this off rather excellently.
What say you? I was somewhat afraid because, knowing I am so brilliant, I might actually pull it off so well that it could get plagarised, but its better than never writing it at all. And besides, like my poems that have been stolen, I couldn't really give a toss - art is, after all, useless.

Our little philosophical statements should be 200 words or less if we want other people to read them.

I'd enjoy it, but I can't guarantee who else would.
Pay them no heed, I say. Either post it, or mail it to me.
I think you have will have a useful perspective on it, and
have given it time already outside this hazy arena.
