The art of life 4 Years, 5 Months ago

This recently dawned on me. In essence, art is our actions and experiences portrayed in our minds through many different ways in order to find beauty, significance, and truth. And I think we can all agree that one's quality of life is relative to the actions and experiences we partake in. You've all probably heard the saying, Life is what you make it. Like a living canvas, always changing with each stroke of our lives. So, I've come to the conclusion that life, in its entirety, IS art. I want to hear what you think.

That is a pretty ghastly observation. Do you think that art itself can actually capture the essence of actions and experiences? My goodness, I doubt even my own memory. Or, what about if I were to paint a tree, for instance, do you in all honesty think that I have perfectly expressed what the tree is? How about those who cannot do art, are they not living?
Surely this is absurd, no?

How you see and define a tree is itself an art.

To comprehend the design of the tree from seedling to his perfect union with nature and our own existence is much more beautiful than the limitations present in our own perception of it in art. I would rather sit and observe the tree itself as art, rather than a superficial and inadequate painting of a tree.

An interesting topic. I am not sure if I agree with how you frame the 'essence' of art, however I am certainly interested in the idea of 'life' being 'art'.
