UofK News: "The Society for Women in Philosophy has named Joan C. Callahan, professor, University of Kentucky College of Arts and Sciences Department of Philosophy, the Distinguished Woman Philosopher of 2007. She will be honored for her work, achievements, contributions to the discipline of philosophy, and support of women in philosophy at the 2007 Annual Meeting of the Eastern Division of the American Philosophical Association in Baltimore, Md., in December 2007.
Callahan received her doctorate in philosophy at the University of Maryland, College Park, in 1982. She has taught at the University of Kentucky since 1986 (previously teaching at Louisiana State University). Her research interests include ethical theory, practical ethics, social and political philosophy, philosophy of law, feminist theory and critical race theory."
